Ending a long-term relationship

I'd been suffering with a breakup in a fairly long-term relationship, probably the lowest point in my life. I struggled to eat, sleep, and function throughout the day, and felt pretty empty and kind of meaningless with everything I was doing. It felt like I was having a bit of a midlife crisis long before the middle of my life; I was struggling to see myself moving on and being my own person, and I guess I felt like I didn't really have a purpose.

For me, it was just having someone to listen and who knew the right questions to ask, having someone to listen to my thoughts and someone to open up to. Before this I hadn't spoken to anyone, and I had a lot of bottled up emotions.

I definitely feel better than before my sessions. I've been using my time to work out what I want to do with my life and trying to become more of an individual. I'm quite up and down at the moment, I think I just need time to fully heal, but the sessions definitely helped me get to a place where I can feel stress free and able to eat and sleep properly.

Money means different things to different people, but for me there's probably not much more valuable than your mental health, so in my circumstances it was a good investment. Therapy has helped me a lot and taught me a lot about myself; it's allowed me to continue my normal life and look forward to the future again.
